Written for Round 1 of the Harlequin Big Bang over at [community profile] story_works. Inspired by the following prompt: “Character A is a famous pirate captain. His only goal in life: revenge. He wants to ruin to man who ruined him. One day Character B falls into his hands. He’s the son of the man he’s sworn to ruin. During the next weeks and some difficult situations, B feels more and more desire for A. Will he be able to make A forget his revenge or will B even help him?” Of course, my mind immediately went to our favorite cop / thief duo, though this time, the tables are a bit turned ;) Enjoy!

Warnings: Character Death(s), Graphic depiction of violence, mention of rape (of a female character) and of implied underage rape (of a male character), Period-typical racism, sexism and homophobia

Not betaed at the moment, and still in progress. I will add chapters and fix those already posted as I get them back from my lovely beta [personal profile] sherylyn.

Peter Burke is, in more than one way, the "one-in-a-million" guy. First of all, he isn't like many other LEO's on TV - depressed, fed up with the job (and maybe the private life too). No, Peter Burke is, from the beginning, the exact counterpoint to all these clichés. He's happily married to the most wonderful Elizabeth, he enjoys his work, and he loves life in general. And when Neal joins him both in their line of work and in his private life on many occasions, Peter lets him in, because he believes that Neal can change, can become a better man, away from the criminal life. In the end, Neal calls him his "best friend", and while we are led to believe that it was just a phrase, I think that Neal really meant it in that moment. This batch was made for Round 77 of [community profile] tvcharacter20, the final round on LJ. Enjoy!

Summary: Neal didn’t just do that, did he?

Notes: Written for challenge #6 “AO3tags” over at [livejournal.com profile] gameofcards. While there was literally a ton of tags that appealed to my muse, I finally settled on those from Feb 27, 2017. Title comes from a movie with Kirsten Dunst and means (according to urbandictionary) "Archaic 1920s American slang that in various contexts refers to one or more of "excellent", "stylish", or "impressive to the ladies"." Rated M for a reason (naughty boys!), peeps! Enjoy!

Now that Phase 9 of [livejournal.com profile] gameofcards is over, I thought it would be nice to show you all the various artworks I've done for the challenges. A phase runs approximately 3 months and is filled with tons of fun! (you'll never believe how much creativity is hidden in yourself!) Warning: IMAGE-HEAVY!!

Sigtags

You need these little beauties whenever you post a response to a challenge. It's helping the mods to keep tracks of your participations (and in case you post to the wrong team thread). See them as kind of a business card, telling everyone which team you're on.

Sigtags Galore... )

Fanart, Icons, Sigtags... )

Special - Joker Challenge

For this challenge, issued by our awesome mod kitty, we had to spread our wings (so to speak). There were games (like doing a labyrinth, finding words, do a quiz, a puzzle, or coloring a page), we had to post screencaps, do icons, sigtags, and last but not least, one big graphic - with all artworks somehow linked to the landcomm's general theme of card games.

A bunch of handsome guys... )

Team Battles

Next to the regular challenges, that are open to all members of all teams, each team can issue a so-called "battle" in order to get more points (most likely to happen among the first two teams). Usually, these battles are themed, but what you do with that theme, it's solely up to you.

Battlegrounds this way... )

Fanfiction

As a writer at heart, I can't resist writing challenges ;) So, next to the graphic challenges, I also wrote several stories for this phase:

If you have any questions about a challenge, how [livejournal.com profile] gameofcards works, or about any of the artworks above, just drop me a PM or a comment ;)

Summary: She’s a master thief and fence, could steal everything she desires whenever she wants. But the one thing her heart yearns for the most is always out of her reach, no matter how hard she tries.

Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] cookielaura at the [livejournal.com profile] wc_women_fest 2016 Holiday Exchange. Follows my headcanon that Alex is in love with Neal (probably all the time), but he is oblivious about it. Set in Season 2, including spoilers for “Forging Bonds”, “Copycat Caffrey” and “Under The Radar”. First time writing Alex, so I hope I get her right. Title is a quote from "The Avengers", said by Natasha Romanov. Happy Holidays and Enjoy!

Summary: It’s only a few weeks after his suicide attempt, and the wounds on both his body and soul are still fresh and raw, but Neal feels the first strands of hope when he spends some afternoons assisting Elizabeth on an outdoor event in a park.

Notes: Written for both the “Winter Magic” challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] story_works as well as the Team Hearts December Battle for [livejournal.com profile] gameofcards. Sequel to “Airport Aftermath” and “Road To Recovery” (upcoming), set between Season 1 and 2.

Summary: Peter and Neal take a break from planning their wedding to join their superhero friends in the first of a slew of Christmas activities.

Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] gameofcards Challenge 37 – Holiday Word List, using all the words provided (ribbon, ornaments, icicles, mistletoe, elf, tinsel, jingle, gingerbread, wrapping, paper, presents). Head Nurse Robbins is named after Dr. Arizona Robbins from “Grey’s Anatomy” (who is a pediatric doctor), and Tony borrows a line from Eliot Spencer, who says exactly the same words in the pilot of “Leverage”. Set in my “The Archer & The Con Man” series, somewhere between “Date (With A Surprise)” and an upcoming wedding story.

Summary: We all know that Neal ended up behind bars after the plane blew up. What we don’t know is how much drama, how much hurt was happening, for almost all parties involved.

Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] gameofcards challenge #34 “Missing Moments”. Starts right after the screen goes black in “Out Of The Box”. Warnings for raw emotional pain (and maybe a lot more), as well as possible spoilers for the S1 finale.

We all have them - favorites. Be it a favorite character, couple, scene, or anything else. And in all the years of watching TV, you might get a nice (and long) list of these favorites. I went over mine and pulled the best of the best for this batch, made for the current round over at [livejournal.com profile] tvcharacter20. Enjoy!

Summary: The last two years were an emotional rollercoaster, for everyone involved. Now, it’s time to celebrate – first and foremost Neal and Peter’s new anniversary, but Peter might knock it out of the park, so to speak, with one simple action.

Time for some celebration... )

HAPPY CAFFREY-BURKE DAY EVERYONE!!!
Summary: It was bound to happen, sooner or later. Neal wasn’t naïve; he knew his two jobs would clash, in some kind of way. But if it was up to him, there wouldn’t be so much drama involved.

Notes: Another part of my “The Archer And The Con Man” series. Set post first Avengers movie, mid-season 3 (after “Checkmate”) for White Collar. Written for [livejournal.com profile] gameofcards Challenge 19 “Catspiration”. Clint’s character in this series is a bit of a merger between the character we saw in the movies and his portrayal in the comics. Deals with THE major character death from the movie and its aftermath (which we never got to see), as well as with the aftermath of the U-boat treasure storyline on White Collar (which we also didn't get to see in depth). Enjoy!

The Seventh Anniversary of the airing of the White Collar Pilot episode is on October 23. Time for another round of Caffrey-Burke Day!

In case you didn't catch it the previous years, let me quickly tell you what Caffrey-Burke Day ISN’T:
It is not a swap.
It is not a challenge.
It is not slash-only.
It is not gen-only.

In fact, there are no sign-ups or any rules except that your fanwork should celebrate the awesomeness that is the Peter & Neal relationship we love so very much.

How can you participate? It’s simple:
On or around October 23, publish a White Collar fanwork that focuses on or otherwise features the relationship between Peter and Neal. Any fanwork. Any subject matter. Any pairing. Any genre. Then, when you cross-post or otherwise promote your work, merely include in the summary or author note that it is for “Caffrey-Burke Day”.

That’s it.

If you’ve got any questions, feel free to leave a comment, but I think it’s pretty straightforward:
1. Create fanwork focusing on Peter and Neal, any medium, any length, any subject matter
2. Publish on or around October 23
3. Mention it’s for “Caffrey-Burke Day”

A couple days later, I'll post a masterlist of all fanwork right here in the [livejournal.com profile] caffrey_burke comm.

If you're interested in the previous masterlists and want to spend the next few days indulging in lots of awesome Peter & Neal goodness, click here and here and here and here respectively. :)

I would like to thank [livejournal.com profile] rabidchild for coming up with the initial idea and for hosting the first two Caffrey-Burke Days. RC, you are awesome and we miss you muchly in our little fandom. *hugs* Thank you for allowing me to continue this!

And, as usual, many thanks to the ridiculously talented [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13 for the artwork above!
