I don't know about you, but once in a while, it happens to me that I get an actor on my favorites list "just" because he's over-the-top excellent in his profession rather than for his good looks. Jeremy Renner is one of those guys. I'll leave it to you to decide if he's attractive or not (though he can and is in certain situations) - and those 40 icons, made for the latest round over at
character_draw. Enjoy! (and I'm sorry for the length of my notes)

On a general note: when I was putting together this batch, I noticed that I seem to have developed a thing for multi-talented men - cause just like Jensen and Matt, Jeremy's not only one hell of an actor, he also knows how to use this set of pipes in his throat (in other words: the man can sing!!)
laughter: I don't know what Robert told Jeremy during the photosession at the Oscars 2013, but the laughter it caused is one of the sweetest and cutest I've seen from Jeremy so far.
2014: Comic-Con in San Diego, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" panel, and to prove that they were really there, Robert and Jeremy get together for a selfie (I still have to see that one ;) )
beginning: I have to admit this is more a guess than anything else. I know that "Hansel & Gretel" was among the first, but I can't remember if I saw this one before or after "The Avengers". And since I have Hawkeye in the Artist's Choice, I went with the steampunked sequel of the well-known fairy tale.
favorite outfit: give me a guy in a leather jacket, and I'm sold XD That started all the way back when I was a kid and had a crush on David Hasselhoff *hides* and continued, more recently, with Jensen Ackles, Matt Bomer, and now Jeremy.

Of all the actors I know, Jeremy is definitely the clown when it comes to crazy poses. Be it in a photoshoot, a TV show, or a red carpet - every situation is game. The five I chose for the category are the literal tip of the iceberg, as there is a whole slew of similiar pics sitting on my hard drive.
AC favorite roles
01: William James - The Hurt Locker: A one of a kind par force tour, definitely worth the Oscar nomination Jeremy got. PFC William James is, by far, a character that gets all your sympathy. Quite the contrary, in some scenes you get why the rest of the team is fed up with his behavior and his tendency to go lone wolf. But deep down, James is, like so many soldiers are in real life, lost, spaced out from reality - an aspect that is amplified in the scenes set back home, especially in the one at the supermarket. Though he's in the same space, breathing the same air as his wife and kid, his mind, his heart is still locked in some war zone.
02: William Brandt - Mission Impossible: Before this movie, I was a bit torn about the series. Movie #2 was good, but #1 and #3 didn't live up to my expectations. So I didn't expect to much from #4, either. Should've known better, right? Well, as in any other movie I've seen with him so far, Jeremy doesn't disappoint in this one either. Leaving the front seat, so to speak, to Tom Cruise for the first few scenes, he raises the bar as soon as the team comes to Dubai. Step by step, you get the impression that there is way more to William Brandt than meets the eye. And by the end of the movie, you see that this IMF agent has a large backpack of guilt on his shoulders.
03: Hawkeye/Clint Barton - The Avengers: One of the first two movies I ever saw with Jeremy. And definitely the one that made me a fan. Though his character is designed to be in the second row, with an actor like Jeremy, you can't expect him to stay back. Which he doesn't. Clint's way leads from being a SHIELD agent to Loki's mindless killer puppet and back, and Jeremy excels in every single scene. And it's not a little bit surprising that my favorite scene in the movie stars Clint, namely the scene where he reuses one of his arrows to escape at the very last second.
04: Jem - The Town: When I saw this movie for the first time, I was in the first stage of becoming a Jeremy fan. So far, I had seen him in "The Avengers" & "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters". Two wonderful movies, yet they didn't prepare me for the virtual hurricane that Jeremy is in "The Town". From the very beginning on, he has a presence in the movie that is terrific on the one, but terrifying on the other hand. His character Jem has no real perspective, and somehow, the audience knows from his very first scene that he won't get a happy end. And he absolutely earned his second Oscar nomination for this movie.
05: Aaron Cross - The Bourne Legacy: I had seen the first three Bourne movies, starring Matt Damon, and I liked them. Nothing more, nothing less (tbh, Matt Damon doesn't do a thing to me, no matter what movie I watch *shrugs*) Anyway, I was more than curious how the story would progress without Jason Bourne. Well, I got more than a bit surprised. First of all, you don't need to know too much about the Bourne movies to get into this one. Sure, there are some hints dropped during the movie, but these are (a) well-placed, and (b) get a backseat once the main story picks up speed. Jeremy and Rachel are, each on their own, two wonderful, highly talented actors that can carry a movie. Here, these two are working like a well-oiled machine. And on top of that all, the action-sequences are really worth watching.
