As I wrote in my last icon post, Barry Allen became a fixture on my radar with his guest appearance on "Arrow". So when an Austrian TV station decided to air Season 1 of "The Flash", I, of course, was curious (nothing new with me XD). And true to its name, the show with all its wonderful characters became a favorite - no pun intended - really really quick. This batch was made for the current round over at
season20in20. Enjoy!

01 - Cisco Ramon: what's there not to love? He definitely loves working with Barry and catching the bad guys, and while there's more than one similarity to Arrow's Felicity Smoak, Cisco is so much more than the resident nerd. First and foremost, they all (Cisco, Barry, Caitlin, Harrison) are on pretty much the same level of intelligence (as they all are scientists to a degree). Second, he's an prolific inventor, constantly coming up with new ideas and gadgets for Barry to use. And last but not least, his brilliant mind comes up with the most hilarious code names for their baddie of the week (which always cracks me up)
02 - Barry Allen: for my reasons see this post
03 - Caitlin Snow: Next to Barry, Caitlin was the one most affected by the explosion of the particle accelerator. Subsequently, she locked her emotions, her grief behind a wall, and only when they start working with Barry, she finally lets them out, one bit at a time.
04 - Joe West: In a nutshell, the best thing that could have happened to Barry when tragedy struck him so young. Joe supports his kids in most things they want to do, but he's also there for them when they need him the most, and he also is the first to point out that, for once, they might be wrong.
05 - Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne: When we first meet him, he's hit rock bottom. The big project he's been working on has been blown to kingdom come, his reputation all but left, his rising star within the scientific community dropped back to the ground at lightning speed, and on top of that, he's bound to a wheelchair. But is that really all that's about Harrison Wells? No, and over the course of the season, we see more and more shades of the man, see into his secrets way before Barry and the rest even consider them, and see him changing from the man who saved Barry's life and became another father figure to The Flash's biggest adversary.
Artist's Choice - Guest Stars:
01 - Felicity Smoak: First things first - I love her character on "Arrow" too. Sure, she has changed over the first three seasons, but hello, her whole life has changed as well. Why I chose her to be on this list here is the fact that (like Oliver and Laurel too) she seems to have left some of the proverbial weight on her shoulders back in Starling City. The Felicity we see on "The Flash" is much more the IT girl we met back in "Arrow" Season 1 than anything else. And they should let her wear her hair open way more often.
02 - Leonard Snart/Captain Cold: I can't help but see a similarity of this character to Mr. Freeze in Gotham City. And like the other man, Snart loves to exaggerate. Wentworth Miller does a great job in portraying him, though he gets a bit slowed down by Mick Rory in his second episode.
03 - Laurel Lance: Like I said with Felicity, Laurel seems to be easier to work with here than back on "Arrow". And her immediate friendship with Cisco is just this side of adorable, especially when she keeps up her promise and agrees to take a very special picture with him.
04 - Dr. Martin Stein: I like Victor Garber ever since his days on "Alias", loosely following his projects since then. Dr. Martin Stein is a wonderful character, and Victor gets the chance to give him in the few episodes we see him in Season 1 a lot of depth, edges and shades, showing us the man behind the "Firestorm" project.
05 - Oliver Queen: here goes the same as with Felicity and Laurel - he almost seems glad to be away from Starling City for a change, and even though his first trip to Central City opens another pandora box from his past, we get to see something that we usually miss on "Arrow" - we get to see him smile a real smile.
