Before June 17th, if anyone would have given me the name "F. Scott Fitzgerald", my answer would probably have been "The Great Gatsby". Little did I know that Mr. Fitzgerald left us another great work - "The Last Tycoon". At some point during the months since the first announcement of Matt being cast in the leading part, I found out that back in 1976, Elia Kazan did a movie of the unfinished novel, with Robert De Niro as Monroe Stahr. I still have to watch it, but I honestly doubt that it will capture my attention as intensly as the Amazon pilot did.

Matt as Monroe Stahr is the perfect choice, a sparkling diamond (with a dark side) amongst the rest of the stellar cast, led by Kelsey Grammer and Lily Collins. The pilot is still available for free on Amazon (but only until July 17th), so if you have some time and the chance to watch it, DO IT!! And don't forget to do the short survey, along with a review! This series needs to be picked up for a full season by Amazon!

favorite: alt08 was my first candidate, but then, while going through the caps, I noticed that Monroe Stahr doesn't smile very often. So I naturally chose the one cap where he really does.

wacky: I admit I did a little cheating here. But Monroe is a very collected character, so he doesn't go wacky (in the usual meaning of the word). Getting angry at Pat was the closest I could get him. (hope that counts)
