I remember back when we met Sara for the first time in the series, she was a bit scary. And sure, Neal tends to exaggerate a bit by times, but I like to think that she was the same during his trial XD And he didn't tell Emily that these nightmares turned a bit hot by the end ;)
I like how you wove the sweet and the sad and the little bit of humor
I don't have children of my own, but I remember what my godfather (he has four) told me once about the hours after the birth of his first child - it's pretty much the same what we witness here with Neal (maybe in not so perfectly formed sentences, but still). He used the time to both reflect on his life so far and do a lookout to the future.
