To be honest, when I started watching "Supernatural" all those years ago, Sam wasn't my favorite at all, not even my second. For the life of me, I can't give any reasons for that, except that it was just that. It should take until seeing "The End" for the first time (in English) to make me see Sam as more than Dean's little brother. The way he portrays Lucifer in this one is just stunning and was, to me, the first real glimpse of Jared's acting chops. And since then, I not only got to see more layers of Sam (and even his bad side, which is its own kind of awesome), I also kind of fell in love with Jared's open real life persona. He's not afraid to talk about the downs he's been experiencing, and that's a brave step for everyone, even more for an actor. Now, I can't imagine Sam without Dean (or vice versa) the way I can't imagine Jared being at an event without Jensen. This set was made for the current round over at [profile] thecw_20n20. Enjoy!

01-b/w vs. color: Sam from the pilot (in b/w) vs. Sam from Season 12's "Rock Never Dies" (in color)

04-internet slang: according to the rules for this round, we had to use a typical social media exclamation in this icon, and what's better fitting this stunning pic than "OMG!!"? pretty much the first pic I had in mind when I read the themes.

06-negative space + text: Ever since the pilot, Sam is portrayed as the one Winchester brother who enjoys doing research. Sure, Dean is capable of it too, but you just know that Sasquatch loves doing it. And that fact is strengthened once the boys discover the Men of Letters bunker in Lebanon, Kansas, and Sam begins to file their own cases into the MOL system.

10-yellow: This one took me the longest to figure it out. At first, I had the scene from "Yellow Fever" in mind, when Dean sees something in Sam's eyes that shouldn't be there, but then I stumbled over this cap from "It's A Terrible Life".

CATEGORY - Out of Character (= the Actor)

In order of appearance: Jared solo (just love this pic) | J2 at a convention | Jared and his bride Gen at their wedding rehearsal | a proud daddy with his two sons Thomas and Shephard | with one of the family dogs

Years of watching Supernatural have taught me one thing (among others): you can't have one brother without the other, or as Zachariah put it so nicely in "Point Of No Return": "You know Sam and Dean Winchester are psychotically, irrationally, erotically codependent on each other, right?" So for this category, you get five scenes with the brothers (oh, and [personal profile] milly_gal, sorry for stealing your idea with No.5, but this pic is just too awesome as not to use it)
