Just for your information: the following entry is by far not complete!
Favorite TV show:
So, while there's nothing on the TV right now that might throw my long-time favorites "White Collar" and "Supernatural" from their leading positions in my list, I found two new shows last year, that went up that list pretty fast (like 1-2 episodes fast)
a) The Flash: at first, I was just curious if Barry (who I absolutely loved when he did his guest stint on "Arrow") could hold up a show on his own. And boy, he did! Pretty much from the very first episode on, I was pulled into his world and couldn't wait to see the next episode. And even though I have only seen the first half of Season 1 so far (yeah, the TV station is that slow!), I see so many good elements in it. I won't go into details right now (that would kill LJ), but let me give you the example of Joe and Barry. These two complete each other, be it in their father-son relationship or in their work with the CCPD, and while Joe of course is determined to look out for Barry, he knows that he can trust him, especially after Joe discovers the truth about Barry.

b) Almost Human: it started almost the same as with "The Flash" - I was curious. But while it was about the character with "The Flash", it was about the main actor with "Almost Human". I knew Karl Urban from his parts in "The Lord of the Rings", "R.E.D." and "Star Trek", but I wanted to see him really starring in a smaller ensemble, not such large ones as LOTR and ST had. And once again, I got hooked. The casting department did a wonderful job with pairing Karl with Michael Ealy, and I even go so far to say that by times, they remind me of Peter and Neal with their bantering, teasing and teamwork (though Peter and Neal have put a finesse and such a high level to that field that it's hard to reach). And I still can't understand why FOX pulled the plug on that show. *shakes head* Last but not least, a show that names a main character "Sandra" can't be that bad XD

Favorite Movie:
Next to "Magic Mike XXL" (along with pretty much every other movie Matt did so far) and a bunch of other movies, I got to see the first part of "The Avengers" (on TV). And to sum it up - I absolutely loved it. I only knew Tony Stark aka "Iron Man" from his previous solo movies, but everyone else was pretty new to me ("Thor" and "Captain America" followed later). What made it quite realistic to me, despite the fact that we're dealing with superheroes, is the fact that while they are exactly that, they're not exactly heroes when it comes to teamwork. Up until, I guess, the last third of the movie, they try to outsmart each other rather than working together.

Another thing, or better character, I liked was "Hawkeye". Due to the more dominant characters of Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor, his character got put back in second row, mostly by getting him turned evil by Loki at the beginning of the movie. The only one who keeps believing in the good in him is Natasha (though she definitely will deny it if asked), and it is her that brings him back, just in time to join the rest of the ragtag team in the final fight, where he gets the best scene (in my humble opinion) - see the screencap to get what I'm talking about. And it absolutely has nothing to do with the fact that I might have a thing for men with a bow and arrows in general :P

Favorite Book:
no new entries on that list - I was busy writing my own big stories and reading fanfiction.
Favorite Video:
all the interviews Matt & Co gave to promote "Magic Mike XXL" - one more hilarious than the other, and oh oh so sweet. Here's an example:
Favorite "Current Event":
Definitely the "Magic Mike XXL" premiere in London in June - perfect weather, our boys dressed up to the nines and Matty adorable as ever.

Date: 2016-01-03 04:02 pm (UTC)It's really a shame about that show. Let's hope the petition brings us conclusion, a movie maybe. Then again, they resurrect a lot of old shows nowadays, so you never know!
Heck, the whole "falling for Karl" has come as a total surprise to me! I am seeking out all his other work now, so yeah, I have fallen deep. Have you seen The Irrefutable Truth About Demons The movie is quite weird but he is awesome! Young, cute, mostly half naked (LOL) and with this lovely New Zealand accent, as it is an NZ movie from 15 years ago.
And I truly look forward to the new Star Trek movie with hopefully lots of Doctor McCoy in it... If someone had told me that a year ago I would have laughed.
The other surprise I had this year was Galavant. Highly recommended! I showed it to friends when they visited me and we laughed until we cried. Second season starts today in America.
I like The Flash very much as well! It's just great fun. The actors are great, I love of course especially the other ones, Joe and also Dr. Wells. Both are very good. But all the young actors are just cute and work well, especially Barry and also Cisco is great fun to watch. Hope to get an action figure of him next!
I am wondering though, if you are so far behind on the show - how far are you with Arrow Do they air it in a way so that the crossovers work out? As they have one episode in one show and then the next in the other, and it could be confusing watching it out of order.

Unbedingt empfehlenswert! Ich warte ungeduldig auf die zweite Staffel.
