Ever since his first appearance at the end of "Lazarus Rising", Castiel, the Angel of Thursday, is a favorite character of mine. His awkwardness when it comes to humans (and interaction with them) often serves as a means for funny moments (which is enhanced by the way Misha Collins plays these scenes), just as his bluntness. Over the years (and seasons), he learned to develop his own, free, will (thanks to Dean and Sam), and rebel against his own brethren. And even though he made some questionable decisions since then, he's still a (mostly) powerful ally for the Winchester brothers (who's hopefully not at the end of his road, considering the Season 12 finale). Themes:
01-first scene: still one of the best and most awesome character introductions in the series (right up with Charlie's first scenes in Season 7)
02-scenery: Cas at the beginning of 6x20 "The Man Who Would Be King", explaining to the audience his motives for his actions over the season
03-blending: not entirely happy with this one, for which I used two images from Season 8 (small one: Cas at the beginning of the season in Purgatory; Background a close-up of Cas' glowing eyes from 8x07 "A Little Slice Of Kevin")
05-awkward: Cas is, mostly due to his angelic nature, prone for some really awkward moments, but this one from 5x03 "Free To Be You And Me" definitely stands out for me, both for the stoic face Cas/Misha keeps throughout the scene, and for Dean's exasperation (which reminds me of a tired parent with a demanding kid in a supermarket)
06-b/w & scared: took me some time to figure that one out, but then I found, during a Google Image Search, a small version of this one from 8x10 "Torn And Frayed", when his attempts at rescuing Samandriel are interrupted by flashbacks to Naomi's torture.
07-recast: that was a difficult one. Misha is, in my opinion, the perfect actor for Cas, and therefore, I didn't really have any actor on the proverbial backburner. I finally settled on Matt Bomer, if only for the fact that I would love to see him in a guest appearance on the show.
09-claim + species: since Cas is an angel, I concluded that it might even work if I icon him with one of his favorite humans (alt10), Crowley and other demons (alt07-09), or even a fellow angel (alt11). I even considered his scenes with the cat in 8x08 "Hunteri Heroici", but I finally settled on one with Demon Dean from 10x03 "Soul Survivor"
10-summertime: the one that was a go from the moment I got the themes - Cas' temporary end from 7x02 "Hello Cruel World"

Date: 2017-07-03 07:08 am (UTC)Scenery was, like "Summertime", pretty much a go when I got the themes - sometimes, I really get an image when I read them (and I mostly stick to that image until the end), but other times, I just can't seem to find a proper pic for the theme.
"Twisted Cas", on the other hand, more or less fell into my hands by coincidence. I had several caps of loony!Cas, but none of them really met my expectations (business as usual for me ;) ) And then, all of a sudden, this showed up in the Google Search XD
