Of all the Avengers we've met so far in the movies, Clint Barton aka "Hawkeye" is my favorite. Sure, it has a lot to do with the fact that his main choice of weapon is the bow and arrow (and I seem to have a thing for men who can wield them perfectly XD), but it's also cause of Jeremy Renner's acting talents. He's matter-of-factly, with a dash of sarcasm, his marksmanship (with every kind of weapon) is one of a kind, and his sharp mind can connect the proverbial dots sometimes way quicker than any of the apparent geniuses on the team. This batch was made for the current round over at [livejournal.com profile] character20n20. Enjoy!

thank you! "Head in the Clouds" came together the way it is more or less by accident. I got an email from a site providing free graphic resources, and I got curious, finding a small pack of cloud textures right on time for this challenge. Though the original pic has clouds in it, they were not good enough for me XD

Oooh, wow, these are soo awesome :D I love the black and white set :D And the sketched one (I just love everything sketch :D)

And the "no face" challenge made me laugh because I immediately thought, ok, if not face then definitely ass, LOL :D

*hugs* thank you!! The sketched one was a late arrival (happened upon me during a different image search XD). But since it's not my own work, I decided to drop it into the alternates bin. And for the category - I was so happy when I read "B/W" - I love black & white pictures in general, since they shift your attention away from the colors and closer to the topic.

LOL! Naughty girl! XD I gotta admit that Clint has quite a nice backside, but I can't exactly remember if there was a nice ass shot in any of the screencaps ;) I got one of Jeremy, but that's from a photoshoot.

thank you! Yeah, as soon as we got the themes set, my mind all but screamed at me "Avengers - Battle of New York", both for "Cityscape" and "Head in the Clouds". And the scenes between Clint, Laura and his kids are just so sweet, I had to use the whole Barton Family (I'm a sucker for characters who have a happy, rather normal life on the side, it makes them a bit more human)

I know what you mean! I know a lot of people were pissed because they wanted Natasha & Clint together, but I loved seeing him with his wife and kids! I agree it showed a little more of a human side to him, to the fact that he's not just an avenger, but a man, too, you know what I mean?

Exactly! But the funny thing is, I love both pairings XD There's a bunch of awesome stories featuring Clint & Tasha in almost every kind of relationship out there (AO3), but I also read great stories featuring the Barton Family. But the funniest thing about Clint is the fact that, in fanfiction, he gets paired up with almost everyone XD

Another scene I absolutely love in Age of Ultron is when Clint is there for Tasha after she comes out of her vision/nightmare. There's a special connection between them two that actually doesn't fit into any label.

I know what you mean! I'm a multi-shipper, so I ship pretty much everyone. It all depends on what I'm feeling that day. So I love him with Natasha, but I also love him with his family, too. I think Clint & Natasha have this bond with one another because they've been through hell with one another and even though Clint was sent to kill Natasha, he let her live and, I think, she kind of feels like she needs to pay him back for that. So they know that they can depend on each other, that they can trust each other. And I just LOVE that.

thank you! since I used the second to last one of the alternates (picture-wise, the cropping and coloring was a bit different) already, I had to use one from AoU this time around ;)

awww, thank you!! *hugs* "Cityscape" was pretty much the first theme I knew how to fill. I love the whole lot of scenes of Clint in the Battle of New York we have in "Avengers", but this one, combined with the first real look at his excellent markmanship, is hands down my favorite.

As for the cropping - I just go with the flow, so to speak. I usually crop the images with Picasa, mostly because it offers a pretty nifty option called "CD Cover" XD it's a pre-made square, which makes all the iconing so much easier (at least for me;) )

Love your set - Clint is awesome and so underrated, damn it! Especially like cityscape, circles, guns & roses, head in the clouds, and cat. 4 & 5.

I also really like alternates 1, 3 & 4!

thank you!! *hugs* That he is! I'm still hoping that one day we will get a Hawkeye solo movie (maybe with Natasha on board too), and just yesterday I read a short article about Jeremy being interested in making a Hawkeye TV series for Netflix (or any of them). I so would watch it!

thank you! Always happy to share, especially a set like this XD I seriously love the promoshoots and posters they did with Jeremy for the movies - awesome pics, and so great to work with. Some of them are even available as PNGs, which makes working with a different background a bit easier for me.

BTW, have you ever checked out [livejournal.com profile] moviefilmstills? Unless the challenge calls for a different movie (or I feel up for a challenge in the challenge), I like to throw in some Hawkeye icons.

I actually used to be a member and participate over there at one point. I don't think I've participated in over two years and I think I left the comm sometime last year when I was clearing out some of the comms I was a member of and it seemed like it was dead. I wasn't aware it was even going again. I'll have to check it out and maybe see about rejoining, then. :)

I have to agree with you about the promos and posters. I have a great many of them saved from when I used to make a ton of Clint icons and I seriously love Renner. I've seriously been wanting a Hawkeye or Strike Team Delta movie, especially something that might fix my OTP since I'm a huge Clint/Natasha shipper and currently still heartbroken about that. I'm not sure I understand what you mean about them being available as PNGs making it easier, though? I typically have about the same amount of work ahead of me whether it's a .jpg or a .png file, so I'm afraid I'm not following.

what I meant was that I don't have to delete the original background before using a texture. Since I'm using PaintNET for that step, I have to do it manually (which is, by far, the biggest p.i.t.a. in doing icons ;) ). And therefore, PNGs with a transparent background are an enormous time-saver for me.

Oh, that makes a lot more sense. Since I make a lot of fake background icons, I can totally relate. Have you tried using GIMP at all? You'd still have to cut things out, but it might give you more ease making icons if you don't want to buy a program. I known several people who use it and they can do as much or more than I can using Photoshop Elements 7. I typically use the quick selection tool and then clean up the edges and it's so much easier and more efficient than when I was erasing the whole thing manually.
